As we kick off the new year, many of us are setting goals and resolutions for ourselves. One goal that is often at the top of the list for book lovers is to read more. However, instead of just reading for the sake of hitting a certain number of books, why not make this year about reading what you truly love?

This year, I have decided to focus on reading books that truly bring me joy and inspiration. I used to feel pressure to read the latest bestsellers or award-winning novels, even if they didn’t really interest me. But this year, I am letting go of that pressure and committing to only reading books that I am genuinely excited about.

One of the reasons I have decided to make this change is because I want to truly enjoy the time that I spend reading. By choosing books that I am truly passionate about, I know that I will be more engaged in the story and more likely to retain what I read. I also believe that reading books that I love will help me to become a more critical and thoughtful reader.

In addition, reading what I love allows me to explore new genres and authors that I may not have considered before. By following my own interests and passions, I am opening myself up to a world of books that I may not have discovered otherwise. I am excited to see where this journey takes me and what new literary treasures I uncover along the way.

Of course, this doesn’t mean that I will only be reading easy, light-hearted books. I still plan on challenging myself with more complex and thought-provoking reads. However, instead of feeling obligated to read certain books just because they are popular or acclaimed, I will be choosing books that speak to my heart and soul.

So, if you are a fellow book lover looking to make the most of your reading time this year, I encourage you to join me in reading what you love. Let go of any expectations or pressures you may have placed on yourself and embrace the joy of reading for pure pleasure. After all, there is nothing quite like the feeling of getting lost in a book that speaks to your soul. Cheers to a year of reading what we love!
