Interview with Author Kaitlin Bevis
I recently had the pleasure of interviewing author Kaitlin Bevis about her writing process, inspirations, and upcoming projects. Bevis is known for her young adult fantasy novels, including the “Daughters of Zeus” series and the “Cinderella, Necromancer” series.
When asked about how she first got into writing, Bevis explained that she has always been an avid reader and was inspired to start writing her own stories after reading the works of authors such as C.S. Lewis and J.R.R. Tolkien. She also cited her love of mythology as a major influence on her writing, which is evident in many of her books.
Bevis described her writing process as a mix of outlining and improvisation. She usually starts with a rough outline of the plot and characters, but allows the story to evolve as she writes. She also emphasized the importance of editing and revising, stating that she typically goes through several drafts before a book is ready for publication.
When asked about her favorite characters to write, Bevis mentioned that she particularly enjoys writing strong, independent female protagonists. She explained that she finds it empowering to create characters who are resilient and able to overcome challenges.
In terms of her upcoming projects, Bevis revealed that she is currently working on a new fantasy series that is set in a world inspired by Greek mythology. She described the series as a darker and more mature take on the genre, with complex characters and intricate world-building.
Overall, my interview with Kaitlin Bevis provided fascinating insight into her creative process and the influences behind her writing. Fans of young adult fantasy novels are sure to be eagerly anticipating her upcoming projects, and I, for one, can’t wait to see what she comes up with next.
