Today, I had the pleasure of reading The Detour by S.A. Bodeen as part of a blog tour organized by the publisher. Coming in at just over 200 pages, this YA thriller packs a punch with its fast-paced plot and suspenseful twists.

The story follows Livvy Flynn, a high school student who is on her way to visit her father for the summer. However, her plans take a detour when her plane crashes in the middle of the Montana wilderness. With no one else around, Livvy must rely on her survival skills to make it out alive.

As Livvy struggles to find her way back to civilization, she comes to realize that there may be more to the crash than meets the eye. Secrets unravel and danger lurks around every corner, making it a thrilling read from start to finish.

Bodeen does a fantastic job of building tension and keeping the reader on the edge of their seat. The vivid descriptions of the Montana wilderness add a sense of realism to the story, making it all the more gripping. Livvy is a relatable and strong protagonist, and her journey of self-discovery is both compelling and heart-wrenching.

Overall, The Detour is a must-read for fans of YA thrillers and survival stories. It’s a quick read that will keep you hooked until the very last page. I highly recommend picking up a copy and experiencing the adrenaline-pumping adventure for yourself.
