As avid readers, we all have those books on our to-read list that we keep putting off for one reason or another. Despite our best intentions, some books just continue to elude us, even after being featured in our past seasonal to-read posts. Here are the top ten books from my past seasonal to-read lists that I still haven’t read, all in English.

1. “The Night Circus” by Erin Morgenstern – This enchanting novel about a mysterious circus that only appears at night has been on my radar for years, but I have yet to dive into its magical world.

2. “Circe” by Madeline Miller – As a fan of Greek mythology, I was excited to read this retelling of the story of the witch Circe, but it somehow keeps slipping through my fingers.

3. “A Little Life” by Hanya Yanagihara – This emotionally heavy novel has received rave reviews, but its length and intense subject matter have deterred me from picking it up so far.

4. “Homegoing” by Yaa Gyasi – The intergenerational saga of two half-sisters in Ghana and America sounds like a captivating read, but I haven’t found the right moment to start it yet.

5. “The Shadow of the Wind” by Carlos Ruiz Zafón – This atmospheric tale set in post-war Barcelona has been recommended to me numerous times, but it remains on my to-read list untouched.

6. “The Goldfinch” by Donna Tartt – Despite winning the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction, this hefty novel has intimidated me with its length, leading me to procrastinate reading it.

7. “Eleanor Oliphant Is Completely Fine” by Gail Honeyman – The quirky protagonist of this novel has intrigued me, but I keep pushing back reading it in favor of lighter reads.

8. “The Secret History” by Donna Tartt – Another Donna Tartt novel that I have yet to read, this dark academia tale has been on my radar for years, but somehow I always opt for something else.

9. “The Nightingale” by Kristin Hannah – This historical fiction novel set during World War II has been highly recommended to me, but I haven’t found the right moment to delve into its emotional story.

10. “The Book Thief” by Markus Zusak – Despite its popularity and critical acclaim, I still have not read this profound novel about a young girl in Nazi Germany and her love for books.

As I look back on my past seasonal to-read posts, I can’t help but feel a sense of regret for not getting to these books sooner. However, I am determined to make them a priority in my reading list and finally experience the stories that have captured my interest for so long. Maybe this time, I will finally cross them off my to-read list and add them to the list of books I have read and loved.
