As summer approaches, many of us are looking forward to lazy days spent by the pool or at the beach, soaking up the sun and enjoying a good book. With so many great books being released this year, it can be hard to narrow down which ones to read first. That’s why I’ve put together a list of the top ten books I hope to read during the summer of 2019.

1. “Where the Crawdads Sing” by Delia Owens – This highly acclaimed novel about a young girl growing up in the marshes of North Carolina has been on the bestseller list for months. I can’t wait to dive into this captivating coming-of-age story.

2. “Daisy Jones & The Six” by Taylor Jenkins Reid – This novel about a 1970s rock band and their rise to fame has been getting rave reviews. I’m excited to see what all the hype is about.

3. “City of Girls” by Elizabeth Gilbert – Gilbert’s latest novel is set in 1940s New York City and follows a young woman who gets caught up in the glamorous world of theater. I can’t wait to get lost in the glitz and glamour of this story.

4. “Normal People” by Sally Rooney – Rooney’s novel about a complicated relationship between two young people has been receiving critical acclaim. I’m looking forward to delving into this intimate and deeply moving story.

5. “The Silent Patient” by Alex Michaelides – This psychological thriller about a woman who stops speaking after killing her husband has been garnering buzz for its twisty plot and shocking ending. I can’t wait to see how it all unfolds.

6. “The Chain” by Adrian McKinty – This gripping thriller about a mother who must kidnap a child in order to save her own has been getting rave reviews. I’m excited to see how the author keeps the suspense high throughout the story.

7. “The Testaments” by Margaret Atwood – Atwood’s highly anticipated sequel to “The Handmaid’s Tale” promises to be a thought-provoking and powerful read. I can’t wait to see where she takes the story next.

8. “The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo” by Taylor Jenkins Reid – Reid’s novel about a famed Hollywood actress and her seven marriages has been on my to-read list for a while. I’m excited to finally dive into this intriguing and glamorous story.

9. “Educated” by Tara Westover – This memoir about a young woman who grew up in a strict and isolated family, but eventually goes on to earn a PhD, has been receiving critical acclaim. I’m looking forward to reading about her remarkable journey.

10. “Circe” by Madeline Miller – This novel retells the story of the Greek goddess Circe, who turns men into pigs in Homer’s “The Odyssey.” I’ve heard great things about Miller’s lyrical writing and unique take on this mythological character, so I can’t wait to read it for myself.

With so many great books to choose from, this summer promises to be a fantastic season for reading. Whether you’re into thrillers, historical fiction, or memoirs, there’s something on this list for everyone. So grab a book, find a sunny spot, and get ready to escape into another world this summer.
