The holiday season is a time of joy and celebration, and for book lovers, it’s also a time to make a wish list of all the books they hope to receive as gifts. As Christmas approaches, many of us are eagerly anticipating the arrival of Santa Claus and the presents he will bring. So, in the spirit of the season, here are the top ten books I wish Santa would bring me this year.

1. “The Night Circus” by Erin Morgenstern – This magical novel about a mysterious circus that only appears at night has been on my must-read list for far too long.

2. “Circe” by Madeline Miller – I’ve heard so many glowing reviews of this retelling of the story of the Greek sorceress Circe, and I can’t wait to delve into its pages.

3. “The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue” by V.E. Schwab – This highly anticipated novel about a young woman who makes a dangerous bargain for immortality has been getting rave reviews, and I’m dying to read it.

4. “Mexican Gothic” by Silvia Moreno-Garcia – A gothic horror novel set in 1950s Mexico? Count me in! I love a good atmospheric read, and this one sounds right up my alley.

5. “The Vanishing Half” by Brit Bennett – This novel about twin sisters who take very different paths in life has been receiving heaps of critical acclaim, and I’m itching to find out why.

6. “Transcendent Kingdom” by Yaa Gyasi – After loving Gyasi’s debut novel, “Homegoing,” I can’t wait to read her latest work about a Ghanaian immigrant family living in Alabama.

7. “When No One is Watching” by Alyssa Cole – This timely thriller about gentrification and the erasure of Black neighborhoods has been called a must-read, and I can’t wait to get my hands on it.

8. “The Once and Future Witches” by Alix E. Harrow – A historical fantasy novel about three sisters who join the suffrage movement as they uncover the magic of witchcraft? Sounds like a dream come true.

9. “The Midnight Library” by Matt Haig – This novel about a woman who gets the chance to undo her regrets and see what might have been is a concept that’s right up my alley, and I can’t wait to dive in.

10. “The City We Became” by N.K. Jemisin – I’m a huge fan of Jemisin’s work, and I’ve been eagerly awaiting her latest novel, a thrilling urban fantasy about the soul of New York City.

So, Santa, if you happen to be reading this, please consider bringing me these ten books this Christmas. I promise to cherish them and give them a good home on my bookshelf. After all, what could be better than curling up with a good book during the cold winter months?
