Top Ten Tuesday is a popular weekly link-up hosted by The Broke and the Bookish, where book bloggers share lists of their top ten books on a given theme. This week, the theme is “Book Characters I’d Love to Be Besties With”, and it got me thinking about all the amazing characters from literature that I would love to have as friends in real life.

Here are my top ten book characters I’d love to be besties with:

1. Hermione Granger from the Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling: Who wouldn’t want to be best friends with the smartest witch of her age? Hermione is not only incredibly intelligent, but also fiercely loyal and brave. Plus, we could study together and she could help me ace all my exams!

2. Elizabeth Bennet from Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen: Elizabeth is a witty and independent woman who speaks her mind and isn’t afraid to stand up for herself. I think we would have a lot of fun together gossiping about all the ridiculous people in our lives.

3. Katniss Everdeen from The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins: Katniss is a strong and courageous heroine who fights for what she believes in. She would be the perfect friend to have by your side in tough situations.

4. Augustus Waters from The Fault in Our Stars by John Green: Augustus is charming, funny, and incredibly romantic. He would make the perfect best friend for late night conversations and spontaneous adventures.

5. Luna Lovegood from the Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling: Luna is quirky and eccentric, but also incredibly kind-hearted and loyal. She would bring a sense of wonder and magic to my life.

6. Jo March from Little Women by Louisa May Alcott: Jo is passionate and determined, with a love for writing and literature. She would be the perfect friend to share my creative endeavors with.

7. Jamie Fraser from the Outlander series by Diana Gabaldon: Jamie is a rugged and handsome Scottish Highlander with a heart of gold. He would be the perfect friend to go on adventures with and share a dram of whisky.

8. Hermione Granger (again) from the Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling: Yes, I’m including Hermione twice on this list because she is just that amazing. Imagine having two Hermiones as best friends – we would be unstoppable!

9. Pippi Longstocking from Pippi Longstocking by Astrid Lindgren: Pippi is wild, adventurous, and full of mischief. Who wouldn’t want to be best friends with a girl who lives in a house with a monkey and a horse?

10. Bridget Jones from Bridget Jones’s Diary by Helen Fielding: Bridget is a lovably clumsy and relatable character who always seems to find herself in hilarious situations. She would be the perfect friend to share a bottle of wine and commiserate about our romantic misadventures.

Overall, there are so many amazing book characters that I would love to be besties with. Whether they are smart and courageous heroines, charming and romantic leading men, or quirky and eccentric sidekicks, each of these characters brings something special to the table.
